SITE VISIT: EDUCATION PATH AT THE CIVIL AVIATION DEPARTMENT (CAD) HEADQUARTERS

On 19^th September 2017, the AIAA Student Branch at HKUST successfully held a site visit to the Aviation Education Path at the Civil Aviation Department Headquarters. The Civil Aviation Department is a department under the Hong Kong SAR Government responsible for regulating the civil aviation industry in Hong Kong. It is also the service provider of Air Traffic Control services. A total of 43 students and faculty took part in this event.

During the 2-hour visit, participants were given an insightful introduction to the development of civil aviation in Hong Kong and learned about the responsibilities of the Civil Aviation Department. At the end of the visit, participants had a valuable chance to witness aircraft operations on the plane observation deck at the HQ.
