On 27th November 2017, the AIAA Student Branch at HKUST successfully held a site visit to Airport Authority Hong Kong (AA). Students had the opportunity to learn about the development of the Three-Runway System (3RS), due to be completed in 2024. In addition, students visited the Integrated Airport Centre (IAC), where the round-the-clock operations of the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) are managed.
To conclude the visit, students were provided with a guided tour around the apron of HKIA, which provided for great photo taking opportunities.
About AA: The Airport Authority Hong Kong is a statutory body wholly owned by the Hong Kong SAR Government. Established in 1995, the AA is responsible for the operation and development of Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA).
