On 12 November 2022, the HKUST Aero Team visited the Hong Kong Government Flying Service (GFS). GFS is a disciplined unit of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region with several responsibilities including Search and Rescue (SAR), Air Ambulance and Law Enforcement services.
During this visit, students were able to learn more about the responsibilities of GFS through insightful career sharing from our alumni, tour their facilities, and photograph the GFS aircraft up close. Students were also interested to learn about future career opportunities like internships and graduate programs.
GFS is currently operating a variety of fixed-wing aircraft including and two of the latest Bombardier Challenger 605 aircraft, and a Diamond DA42 for training. As part of their helicopter fleet, GFS has 7 Eurocopter H175s for fleet renewal and 4 Eurocopter EC155.
